Continuing its support for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana (RMH-SLA), EMR USA - part of EMR, a global leader in sustainable materials - is raising vital funds through donations of unwanted metal. At sites across EMR’s Southern USA region, from New Orleans to Lake Charles, bins have been installed to promote the fundraising program.
RMH-SLA helps families of children undergoing hospital treatment by providing accommodation and family rooms. The accommodation is a home away from home, a space that provides comfort, support and resources to families who travel far from home for the medical care their child needs.
Customers of EMR, and other businesses across the Southern USA region, are encouraged to donate their metal to one of the nine bins. All materials collected from the donation bins will be weighed, with the monetary value given directly to RMH-SLA. The much-needed funds will allow the charity to keep more families together and near the medical care their children require.
EMR USA’s Environmental, Social and Governance Coordinator Ashley Trosclair commented: “As a community-focused business, we are proud to continue our support for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana, which is a highly-valued and cherished service for the people of New Orleans, and the wider Gulf Coast region.
“This latest fundraising initiative is part of our five-year partnership with the charity where we have pledged to donate $10,000; we currently sponsor a room at their purpose-built accommodation facility in the heart of New Orleans, as well as providing volunteer time for their essential projects the Annual Kids & Clays Open & Fore the Families Annual Golf Classic.
“No family should have to worry about being able to stay by their child’s side if they are in hospital with a serious illness or injury. Whilst children are receiving treatment and recovering, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana offer accommodation and family rooms to those facing such difficult circumstances. Through our newly installed metal donation bins, we can raise further funds for this vital service which is so important to all of us at EMR USA, and the local communities that we serve.”
