Chrissy Bunting’s title as Account Manager doesn’t truly reflect all her work at EMR.
If there was a more appropriate title, it would be the “Guru Of All Trades” according to her.
There’s good reason for that – 21 years ago, Chrissy made a pivotal career move onto an EMR yard, with no industry background, and has been part of the family ever since.
Chrissy may not have had a background in metal recycling, but she did have customer service skills, strengthened by a time spent in retail, that she leaned on to thrive in her first role at EMR – and every one she’s had since.
“I wanted to further my career at EMR once I realized the opportunities in this industry. I could tell there was a lot to learn. I made it a point to prove there was a reason to keep me around,” Chrissy said.
Since then, Chrissy has gained valuable skills and knowledge across numerous vital roles on the yard and behind the scenes – from scale operator to inventory management, accounts payable to trading and rail car logistics. Everything she learned, she still uses today.
“I went to “the college of EMR”. The knowledge that I’ve learned over all those roles allows me to be my best self now. My entire adult life and career have been EMR,” Chrissy explained.
Chrissy’s leadership shines through in everything she does. She’s a conduit that keeps information and communication flowing through all departments, out to the customers, and back into EMR again. She supports teams across the organization with care, implements strong processes, keeps people aligned and drives efficiency and growth.
Her ability to balance detail with vision has made her a trusted leader who inspires those around her to excel and inspires those colleagues who are not immediately around her to seek her expertise.
This is the most rewarding part of her role here.
“My peers and colleagues help me grow by coming to me with all these questions. I get a lot out of those questions because sometimes I’m learning something new myself and I love learning,” she explained.
It’s Chrissy’s passion that fuels her to stay the course with one organization, embracing challenges as opportunities to shine.
“I have a lot of challenges that come at me on a daily basis, and I love taking them on,” she stated, “I’ve learned so much here. Not just about this industry, but the ins and outs of EMR ‘s processes and people too.”
